Kris Yue is a Toronto-based photographer. He photographs people and products, in studio and on location, with a focus on graphic shape, primary colour and hard light. Intentionality is at the core of his practice.

Kris is a highly technical photographer, but his pictures never lose the warmth and tenderness of what makes us human. He believes collaboration is where the best work happens.

His fine art practice is how he works through what he’s lived. It drives his growth and feeds his curiosity, which carries into his commercial work and keeps it inventive and never still. His pictures play with expectations, often with humour and hidden text.

Kris is in his final year of the Honours Bachelor of Photography at Sheridan College, and he was blogTO’s first photography intern. He has worked with fu-GEN Theatre Company, LetsStopAIDS and Scotiabank Arena. He received the David Barker Maltby Award from Gallery 44 in 2022, and his work has sold at the SNAP Photographic Auction in Toronto and the Red Ribbon Gala in Shanghai. He is fluent in English and Mandarin. Living in the west end, Kris has a deep love for Toronto, its people, its art and its culture.
